About Richard Gearhart

Richard Gearhart is the principal and founder of Gearhart Law, a law firm located in Chatham, New Jersey, specializing in patent, trademark and copyright services. The firm provides an array of services in the life sciences, chemical, mechanical, and software arts, and includes patent application drafting, domestic and international patent prosecution, and opinion rendering, agreement and transactional work, litigation support and expert testimony. Richard has garnered extensive breadth of experience in the patent field during his fifteen years of practice, having written and prosecuted hundreds of patents. He is the former Head of the US Patent and Trademark group for Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation. While at Novartis, Richard managed a group of 40 patent and trademark attorneys and oversaw global litigation and patent prosecution. Richard previously served as General Patent Counsel at CIBA Vision Corporation.
